Yesterday the children in Year 1 enjoyed an exciting trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. In Science this term we having been learning about animals, discussing the different classifications of animals and finding out about different habitats. During the trip the children saw lots of different animals as they walked around the park and were able to talk about them scientifically. The children also took part in a workshop led by one of the park rangers. They got to investigate different fur, scales and skeletons from animals at the park, as well as touch and hold some animals. The children were very brave and held cockroaches, African land snails and Satsuma the corn snake!
