During the week commencing the 25th November we had an exciting Science focus week in school. Our focus was Science Investigations. We had a great time investigating what happened to colours in milk, creating bubbles and changing their colours, making a rainbow using skittles and water, melting and freezing ice, changing solids into liquids and observing flowers change colour. The children worked in small groups with an adult and learnt the language of a scientist. We learnt new words including scientist, investigate, predict, question, observe, method and experiment. We recorded the children’s learning through a Science floor book which we shared at the end of the week with the class. We had so much fun! “When can we do this again?” asked Millie Mae “Wow” How does that happen?” asked Claudia about the rainbow experiment. The children continued to be scientists in their home learning and investigated objects that floated and sank and recorded their learning through drawings or photographs. Come and look in our home learning books!
