Family of Schools – School Council meeting 27.01.17
Held at Bradfield Parish Council Offices
Today we took two School Council representatives to meet with our family of schools at Bradfield Parish Council Offices. The children were delighted to meet Councillor Vicky Priestly. She spoke to the children about her role and the children asked lots of questions including:
‘What is one of the best decisions you have made?’
‘Do you enjoy being a councilor?’
‘Do you think litter and dog poop is a problem in our community?’
After this the children had their own School Council meeting which was chaired by a Y6 pupil from Loxley School. School Council discussed the topics on our agenda:
• Litter.
• Road safety.
• Transition to Bradfield School.
It was decided that as a family of schools we would focus on the litter problems in our community and arrange a date for a litter picking event in parks around our school communities.
Mrs Harris and Mrs Everitt were extremely proud of how our Year 2 children shared their ideas with the group.
