We have had two very busy Design and Technology days! The children began by investigating a range of vehicles. They identified their function and purpose, for example a tractor is used by farmers and has big wheels so it doesn’t get stuck in the mud. The children did some great problem solving when they tried to work out how an axle and wheels worked on a vehicle. They designed and made a jeep to explore the Rainforest. They thought about the humid and damp conditions and decided what their jeep needed to be functional. They tested their vehicle to check it could move forwards and backwards without the wheels dropping off! When evaluating their product/jeep they considered how they would improve it next time.
