Once again the Y2 children worked hard to learn the songs and movements for this year’s performance.
We attended Sheffield Arena on the 22nd January to sing a variety of songs including:
Transport of Delight
Get Loud
The Gospel Train
The Lightening Tree
Utter Madness
Invincible with Laura Wright
Video Killed the Radio Star
Power in Me
Somebody to Love
Pop Medley
River Deep Mountain High
Nothing can prepare you for the sound of thousands of children singing in harmony. Young Voices combines the power of singing together as one, with accompaniment from a wide range of musicians and artists, to create an amazing performance.
Every year, schools across the country practise music with their teachers to prepare themselves to take part in these massive concerts. Over the years the children in the choir have performed with artists such as Alexandra Burke, Joss Stone, and Gary Barlow as well as raising over 1 million pounds for Children’s charities such as CLIC Sargent.
With a full live band, backing singers and the internationally acclaimed conductor David Lawrence, it makes for one of the most exciting and memorable musical experiences you can imagine.
Young Voices has introduced over one million children to live music in the past 17 years. All the music is specially selected and arranged to give the children the widest variety of songs to perform. For some of the music, Young Voices provide a simple selection of dance moves that can be performed whilst singing the songs.
Now we are a part of Young Voices here are some things to remember:
• You are now part of the largest children’s choir on the planet
• You will be singing in an arena where the world’s biggest stars perform regularly
• You will be one of the actual performers in the show so you need to learn your words, practise all the moves and use a big voice so everyone can hear you
• You will be singing to a sold-out arena: now that’s an achievement!
• Most importantly, remember to enjoy every moment!
