What a wonderful Arts week we have had! The children began the week learning about Collage. They explored different ways of collaging, including mixed media natural resources and photos. We focused on the artist Hannah Hoch and took inspiration from her collages to create our own work.
We then moved on to learn about repeating patterns. We made repeating patterns using shape and colour. We practised printing with corks and explored different patterns with colour. We looked at Damien Hirsts spot paintings and compared them. We noticed how some were irregular/random patterns and some were organised in careful rows and columns.
Finally we used our printing and pattern ideas to design and make our own T-shirts
